Apples in smoothies! Apples in protein shakes! Apples in salads!

I haven't given up on apples.  I've been eating them now as part of smoothies or really protein shakes.  Apple pie protein shakes are awesome!  The other way I'm eating them is in salads or in combinations with other foods.  Apples really mix well!   Apples can be a good edition to almost any kind of dish.  I think just the thought of eating apples (even as they stare at me in my fruit bowl on my dining room table ... uneaten) is a reminder to me eat better, sleep more and to exercise!  Maybe that's why pictures of apples are often used as symbols for being healthy.
